Poem During a Sleepy Afternoon

These abstract longings
color each chamber of my heart:
the immense hues throb
in my veins, emitting tiny pulses
of a code. They spell out shaky
syllables of something
which resembles your name.

The light of your frame touches
the webbings between my fingers, my toes,
filling me with silent reminders
of your hands as they grip
the tiny cables, pulling
me closer to your illumination:
I shiver in your absence —

most present.
