Way too early to arrive in the office, and now my eyes betray me as consequence — they’re shutting down without warning.
My headphones are on but nothing is playing. My ears anticipate a signal from source unknown (or maybe I’m just tired of listening to the same set of songs).
There’s still time to prepare for the morning, or a time to steal sleep.
“Morning is wonderful. Its only drawback is that it comes at such an inconvenient time of day.” [Glen Cook, Sweet Silver Blues]
